Jeremy Renner is said to be in a "critical but stable" condition in hospital after being involved a snow plowing accident.
The 51-year-old, who stars as Hawkeye in the Marvel Universe, had to be airlifted from his ranch near Lake Tahoe in Nevada following the incident.
No other details about the nature of Renner's injuries have yet been provided, although weather conditions near his home have been extremely poor in recent days, with heavy snowfall and plummeting temperatures.
A spokesperson for the actor said: "We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today.
"His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care."
Renner is said to have been alone at the time of the accident.
