Release of Venom sequel delayed until September
Sony delays the release of superhero sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage until mid-September.

Sony has confirmed a fresh delay to the release of Venom sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

The superhero movie, set within the wider Marvel Universe, will see Tom Hardy reprise his role as the titular character to deal with a threat posed by Woody Harrelson's villainous Carnage.

Sony initially had the film slated for an October 2020 release but due to the coronavirus pandemic that was shunted on to this June.

Now, with the cinema industry still in the very early days of recovery, the decision has been taken to delay it again until Friday, September 17.

The new date will see the film go up against Death on the Nile and The Boss Baby: Family Business.
