The BBC is reportedly considering editing Gregg Wallace out of the next series of MasterChef entirely following recent allegations against him.

The 60-year-old, who has presented the cookery show alongside John Torode for the last 20 years, has stepped down from the programme after multiple women spoke out to complain about his inappropriate sexualised remarks towards them.

Wallace issued a statement vigorously denying the claims last weekend but more women have come forward in recent days to allege that he inappropriately touched them.

At the time that the story first broke, the 2025 edition of MasterChef was still being recorded, albeit a few days from the finale, and when Wallace stepped down Anna Haugh joined Torode to finish up the series.

According to the Daily Mail, the BBC is now debating whether to undertake a lengthy editing progress to remove Wallace from all episodes of the new series to ensure that it can still be broadcast.

A production source told the newspaper that the series is "salvageable", adding: "John and Gregg were always shot with separate cameras. Any two shots, or wide shots containing the pair can be cut. Removing Gregg entirely is a difficult task, but not an impossible one."

The final episodes of spinoff show MasterChef: The Professionals, which also stars Wallace, are due to go out as planned next week.
