Get to know MasterChef 2024 contestant Aaron, including their age, profession and hopes for the competition.

Age: 37

From: Erith, South East London via Margate, Kent

Occupation: Business manager

Cooking Style: "I would describe my cooking as a fusion. I like a lot of different flavours and spices. I like a bit of everything, particularly Asian cuisine but also Caribbean, Mediterranean and Indian.

"My aunty Georgi, who passed away, also was a big inspiration. She ran various pop-up Caribbean restaurants in Brighton and when I was little and visited her, I would help out and work with her in the kitchen."

Why MasterChef?: "It was actually my wife, Hannah, who entered me on the show without me knowing! The first I knew about it was when I got a call to discuss my application!

"My wife believes in my culinary skills and would like to see me showcase my them on a platform like MasterChef. It's nice to know she thinks I have what it takes to excel in the competition, and it gave me that boost I needed to go for it."

Ambition: "My food dream would be to open my own small restaurant where I could showcase the dishes I love to cook inspired by my travels and foods I have tasted. It would be a place where my culinary creativity and passion could come to life, offering a unique and intimate dining experience."

MasterChef continues Thursday at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
