Florence Pugh is said to be in final negotiations for a role in the upcoming sequel Dune - Part Two.
The first part of the epic dystopian sci-fi movie was a critical success upon its release last year, earning 10 nominations at this year's Oscars, and delivered a decent box office return of over $400 million (£306m).
Pugh - an Oscar nominee for Little Women - is said to be in talks to play Princess Irulan Corrino, an important character who gets romantically involved with Paul Atreides, played by her Little Women co-star Timothee Chalamet.
The role could extend beyond the sequel if director Denis Villeneuve gets the green light to produce further films based on Frank Herbert's book series.
According to Variety, Austin Butler - star of the upcoming biopic Elvis - is also in talks to join the cast as Feyd-Rautha, the sadistic nephew of Stellan Skarsgard's Baron Harkonnen.
Dune - Part Two will be filmed this summer for a scheduled release on October 20, 2023.
