Paul Mescal has revealed that he is spending a lot of time in the gym to prepare for his role in the upcoming Gladiators sequel.
The Normal People star will play the lead character in Ridley Scott's follow-up to his acclaimed 2000 epic and was picked for the part because of his physicality.
Nevertheless, Mescal, 27, is in the process of beefing up even further before filming begins in Morocco at the end of June.
"Every time someone asks me if I've started working out, I'm like, 'What do you mean? You can't tell?'" he told Variety.
"I'm working hard. Hopefully, when you see me in three or four weeks you'll be able to see it."
He added: "I like exercise. It's not something I dread, thank God."
The as-yet untitled film is scheduled for release on November 22, 2024.
