A sequel to the classic disaster movie Twister will be released in summer 2024, Universal has announced.
The film - released in 1994 - starred Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton as scientists working to understand the mechanics of tornadoes, in the process finding themselves caught up in one of the most ferocious twisters ever seen.
Rumours of a sequel have abounded for years but now plans have been confirmed to release a follow-up movie, titled Twisters, on July 19, 2024.
Details of the project are scant, including information on the storyline or if any of the cast members from the first movie will return.
Minari's Lee Isaac Chung will direct the film, while Mark L Smith - known for The Revenant - is on board as screenwriter.
