American rapper Coolio, known for songs including 'Gangsta's Paradise', has been found dead at the age of 59.
According to TMZ, which broke the story, paramedics were called at 4pm Wednesday PT (12am Thursday UK) after the star was found unresponsive in the bathroom at a friend's house in Los Angeles.
Doctors then pronounced him dead at the scene and although a cause of death has yet to be conclusively determined, his long-time manager Jarez Posey said that he suffered a suspected heart attack.
Although 'Gangsta's Paradise' was his biggest hit, spending three weeks at the top of the US chart and earning him a Grammy, Coolio also enjoyed success with tracks such as 'C U When U Get There' and '1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)', while he was also known for recording the theme tune to Kenan & Kel.
He is survived by his six children.
