Linkin Park reunite with new lead singer seven years after Chester Bennington's death
Linkin Park announce their reunion seven years on from the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington.

Linkin Park have announced their reunion for a new album and tour, seven years on from the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington.

In July 2017 Bennington committed suicide by hanging at the age of just 41 on what would have been the 53rd birthday of his close friend Chris Cornell, who had taken his own life by the same method two months prior.

Following Bennington's death, Linkin Park - one of the world's best-selling groups ever, with over 100m record sales - went on indefinite hiatus, but now they have reformed with a new lead vocalist.

Taking on the daunting role is Emily Armstrong, formerly of the band Dead Sara, who is linking up with original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn and Dave Farrell alongside new drummer Colin Brittain.

The group will release their eighth studio album, the 11-track From Zero, on November 15, and they put out lead single 'The Emptiness Machine' on Thursday to coincide with the comeback announcement.

Shinoda said: "Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we're currently undertaking.

"Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future - embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans.

"We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead."

The band will play six dates around the globe over the next two months ahead of a more comprehensive tour in 2025.

The 2024 dates:

September 11 - Kia Forum - Los Angeles, CA
September 16 - Barclays Center - New York, NY
September 22 - Barclays Arena - Hamburg, Germany
September 24 - The O2 - London, UK
September 28 - INSPIRE Arena - Seoul, South Korea
November 11 - Coliseo Medplus - Bogota, Colombia
