Alex Scott, Chris Ramsey join Children in Need presenting lineup

Alex Scott, Chris Ramsey and Stephen Mangan will join Mel Giedroyc in hosting the BBC's Children in Need telethon next month.

Alex Scott, Chris Ramsey and Stephen Mangan will all join the presenting lineup for Children in Need for the first time this year.

The annual telethon will take place from the BBC Studios on Friday, November 13 - albeit with all appropriate social-distancing measures in place due to coronavirus.

Mel Giedroyc will be returning as the main host of the event after Tess Daly announced earlier this year that she was stepping down as presenter after 11 years.

"BBC Children in Need is 40, it's older than me, I can't believe it!" said Giedroyc, 52.

"It is an absolute honour for me to join the rest of the gang hosting a heart-warming, fabulous, surprising and entertaining show - it's going to be blooming brilliant and a dazzingly delightful night of top telly!"

Scott added: "It feels so surreal to be a presenter on BBC Children in Need - it's a complete honour. It has been a show which I have grown up with, so to be joining the presenting lineup is amazing.

"I don't think a little 8-year-old Alex watching at home all those years ago would have ever dreamed that one day she could be presenting it."

This year's fundraiser will see Joe Wicks take part in a 24-hour PE session and ITV face off against the BBC in a special episode of University Challenge.
