Armie Hammer apologises for "Ms Cayman" leaked video

Armie Hammer issues an apology to Miss Cayman Islands following the leak of a video on his alleged private Instagram account.

Armie Hammer has issued an apology to Miss Cayman Islands following the leak of a comment he made on his private Instagram account.

The 34-year-old actor has been subject of a bizarre Twitter storm over the last fortnight after several ex-girlfriends alleged that he expressed cannibalistic desires and a liking for extreme sexual fetishes.

The claims were seemingly backed up by the leak of private messages from the Call Me By Your Name star, none of which has been verified, while he has responded by calling the allegations "bullshit" and "vicious".

A report in the Daily Mail over the weekend revealed posts from Hammer's alleged private Instagram account, including one which featured a video of a girl on all fours on a bed alongside the caption: "Well... my ex (for a very good reason) wife is refusing to come back to america with my children. So I have to go back to Cayman... which sucks. Except there are a few silver linings. Like f**king Ms. Cayman again while I'm down there."

In response, the Miss Cayman Islands committee said that it was "very disturbed" by the insinuation that their representative was in the video, while Hammer issued a statement to local publication Cayman Compass apologising for his casual description of the girl.

"I would like to clarify that the person in my video, which was stolen from my private Instagram, is not Miss Cayman," he said. "I am genuinely sorry for any confusion my foolish attempt at humour may have caused.

"My deep sympathies to Miss Cayman, who I don't know, and to the entire organisation as I had no intentions of implying she was actually Miss Cayman."

Hammer split from his wife of 10 years Elizabeth Chambers last summer.
