Bill Turnbull "very, very calm" about death

Former BBC Breakfast host Bill Turnbull says that he feels "very, very calm" about death after he was diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Former BBC Breakfast host Bill Turnbull has revealed that he has come to terms with his own mortality and has no fear of dying.

The 64-year-old was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer three years ago and has no idea how long he has left to live.

"I've thought a great deal about death since I was diagnosed with cancer because he's there, y'know – the fella with the hood over his head and the scythe. He's waiting, and that's fine," Turnbull told The Mirror.

"I've developed quite a healthy relationship with death, I feel very, very calm about it because I've given it a lot of thought. There's no way I'm going to imagine I can live forever, nor would I really want to."

Turnbull currently presents Songs of Praise and has a show on Classic FM and earlier this year had a brief reunion with former co-host Susanna Reid when he filled in for Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.
