David Arquette has announced that he will reprise his role as Sheriff Dewey in the upcoming fifth film in the Scream franchise.
The new movie - to be released 10 years after Scream 4 - officially entered development in March and is due to begin filming later this year when it is safe to do so.
Neve Campbell recently revealed that she is "having conversations" about returning to the franchise, and now Arquette has revealed that he is already on board.
"I am thrilled to be playing Dewey again and to reunite with my Scream family, old and new," Arquette said. "Scream has been such a big part of my life, and for both the fans and myself, I look forward to honouring Wes Craven's legacy."
Arquette's ex-wife Courteney Cox has yet to comment whether she will be part of Scream 5, having featured in all four previous films.
