A TV series based on the film Groundhog Day is reportedly in the works.
The movie, released in 1993, stars Bill Murray as a TV weatherman who finds himself trapped in a time loop, condemning him to repeat the same day over and over again.
Actor Stephen Tobolowsky, who played annoying insurance salesman Ned in the film, has now claimed that a TV show follow-up is in the works - and he has already agreed to take part.
"There's talk about a Groundhog Day series in the works," he told The Production Meeting podcast. "[I heard it from] one of the producers I was working with on The Goldbergs or Schooled, one of those shows over on the Sony lot.
"And one of the producers saw me and goes, 'Oh, Stephen! Stephen! We're working on a Groundhog Day TV show. Could you be Ned for the TV show?' I go, 'Sure. Yeah. No problem'."
The film is a cult hit and in 2006 was admitted to the National Film Registry in the US.
