Kanye West proceeding with bid to become President

Kanye West files the first piece of paperwork required to become a candidate for US President.

Kanye West appears to be serious about running to become President this year and has now filed the first piece of paperwork required for his candidacy.

The rapper announced his decision to run for high office in a tweet on Independence Day, having flirted with the idea multiple times in the past.

West subsequently gave a bizarre interview to Forbes magazine in which he shared his thoughts that a potential coronavirus vaccine is "the mark of the beast", prompting fears that he is in the middle of a serious episode of bipolar disorder.

According to TMZ, the 'Gold Digger' singer has filed the first form required by the Federal Election Commission, the 'Statement of Organization' form, which lists West as the representative of the BDY Party, thought to stand for 'The Birthday Party'.

The website reports that the second form required, which officially triggers his candidacy, has yet to be filed.

Early polling numbers have suggested that West would command around 2% of the national vote should he run.
