Liam Payne apologises after accusations of 'biphobic' song

Liam Payne apologises after his track 'Both Ways' is accused of "fetishising bisexual women".

Liam Payne has apologised for any offence caused by his song 'Both Ways'.

The track featured on his debut album, LP1, and was accused of "fetishising bisexual women" for its lyrics, which appear to depict a MFF threesome.

Payne sings: "Lovin' the way she's turning you on / Switching the lanes like a Bugatti Sport / Nothing but luck that she got me involved, yeah.

"Flipping that body / Go head, I go tails / Sharing that body like it's our last meal."

The 26-year-old was the subject of a fierce backlash on Twitter after the song emerged and at one point the hashtag #LiamPayneIsOverParty was trending.

Speaking to the Daily Star about the controversy, the One Direction star said: "I am sorry to anyone who got offended by certain songs or different things on the album, for sure.

"It was never my intention with any of the writing or things I was doing. I was just challenging myself in different areas. Looking back on it now, it was just a moment in time for me."

Payne recently revealed that he is in discussion with his One Direction bandmates about a potential reunion this summer to mark their 10th anniversary.
