Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle opens up on feelings of being "isolated" and "othered".

Meghan Markle has opened up on what she has described as an "almost unsurvivable" amount of abuse from online trolls.

The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family earlier this year and moved to Los Angeles, citing a desire to escape the scrutiny of the British press.

Their actions have drawn some criticism, in particular after they signed a nine-figure deal with Netflix, and now former actress Markle says that the experience left her feeling "isolated" and "othered".

"I'm told that in 2019, I was the most trolled person in the entire world, male or female," she told the Teenager Therapy podcast.

"Now, eight months of that, I wasn't even visible. I was on maternity leave or with a baby.

"But what was able to just be manufactured and churned out, it's almost unsurvivable. That's so big you can't even think about what that feels like.

"Because, I don't care if you're 15 or you're 25, if people are saying things about you that are untrue, what that does to your mental and emotional health is so damaging.

"We all know what it feels like to have our feelings hurt. We all know what it feels like to be isolated or othered."

The Queen is due to oversee a one-year review of Harry and Meghan's new arrangement outside of the Royal Family early next year.
