NBC picks up alien drama Debris for 2020-21

NBC orders new alien drama Debris to series for the 2020-21 season.

NBC has given a series order to new alien drama Debris for the 2020-21 season.

The coronavirus pandemic has thrown pilot season into complete disarray, with Debris the only one of NBC's pilots to complete the majority of its filming before the production shutdown.

Debris follows CIA agent Bryan Beneventi (Jonathan Tucker) and British MI-6 operative Finola Jones (Riann Steele), who are partnered together to investigate the wreckage from an alien spacecraft, which appears to have "mysterious effects" on humanity.

The drama comes from Fringe showrunner JH Wyman and has drawn comparisons with The X-Files and the Men In Black movies, as well as Fringe itself.

Debris is thought to have received a 13-episode order and is being earmarked for a midseason debut.
