CBS has officially renewed The Good Fight for a fifth season to air in 2021.
The show - a spinoff of The Good Wife created by husband-and-wife team Robert and Michelle King - follows Christine Baranski's character Diane Lockhart as she rebuilds her legal career after losing her savings to a fraudulent investor.
In the US, The Good Fight airs on streaming service CBS All Access and is currently in the middle of its fourth season.
In an announcement today, CBS confirmed the fifth season pickup but also revealed that season four will be cut short at its seventh episode after coronavirus halted production in March.
"While we all had hoped to provide audiences with a 10-episode fourth season, we, among many others, have had to adapt due to the pandemic," said Julie McNamara, evp of All Access.
"Although it's a shortened season, the incredible cast and crew, helmed by the incomparable Robert and Michelle King, have produced a phenomenal seven episodes.
"We can't wait for viewers to see the remainder of the season and are excited to bring subscribers even more of the timely, gripping storylines the Kings bring to life next in season five."
In the UK The Good Wife airs on More4.
