The Wanted spark rumours of a potential reunion by becoming active on social media for the first time in six years.

Boyband The Wanted have sparked rumours of a potential reunion by re-emerging on social media.

The five-piece - Max George, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes - formed in 2009 and went on to have two number one singles, 'All Time Low' and 'Glad You Came'.

The boys also enjoyed some success in the US, and even had their own E! reality series, but decided to go their separate ways in January 2014.

The group's official Facebook page has gone without an update in the six years since but on Thursday it was mysteriously updated with a new profile picture and cover photo, prompting much fan excitement online.

McGuiness refused to be drawn on the speculation, teasing fans on Twitter by asking them to send him pesto-related questions instead.
