Season two of 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK' axed?

Coronavirus concerns reportedly lead to the plug being pulled on filming for season two of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Production on the upcoming second season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK has reportedly been terminated due to the spread of coronavirus.

The British adaptation of the US reality show debuted on BBC Three via iPlayer last autumn and was a resounding success, with more than 6.5m streams by the mid-point of the season.

The BBC wasted no time in commissioning a second season, which is believed to have begun filming in recent weeks but has now been shut down with immediate effect.

"Drag Race was being filmed at Pinewood Studios and was well underway but with everything happening at the moment they had to pull the plug," a source told The Sun. "There were contestants on set, as well as talent and the production team and it was deemed far too risky.

"At the moment the plug has been pulled completely on the show and as it stands, the second series of Drag Race is permanently on hold.

"It's awful for everyone involved, people aren't working and the studios are empty. But obviously the health of everyone on the show comes first."

The first season ended with The Vivienne crowned as the winner, with Divina De Campo finishing runner-up. Relive The Vivienne's memorable impression of Donald Trump below:
