The brother of former Jackass star Bam Margera claims that his sibling is "dying".

The brother of troubled Jackass star Bam Margera has said that his sibling is in the process of "dying".

Bam, 43, has battled drug and alcohol addiction for years but his condition has worsened over the last 12 months, resulting in him being arrested multiple times on accusations of domestic violence and public intoxication.

Last week Bam handed himself into police after his brother, Jess Margera, alleged that he had hit him multiple times over the head at their home.

"I hope none of you ever have to hurt as much as me right now," Jess posted on Instagram alongside a picture of him and his brother. "He is dying, and there is nothing I can do about it."

Jess also went on a rant on Twitter against his brother, writing: "I might have permanent hearing damage from bams desperate lame ass little 'attack' while I was making coffee. If that's the case all of my bands upcoming touring income he will be sued for and I will fucking win. I'm not a fun enemy to have."

Bam, meanwhile, has refuted his brother's claims, saying: "I just got out of the courthouse with my lawyers. Everything went great and the false accusations of what my brother says are not true and he will be sued for defamation as well as being evicted from castle bam sooner than later. The reason this happened is because I read his phone saying he wants me back in California and he wants to find a way to 302 me. Fuck him."

Bam is currently out on a $50,000 bail after pleading not guilty.
