Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of legendary musician Elvis, dies at the age of 54 after a cardiac arrest.

Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of legendary musician Elvis, has died at the age of 54 after a cardiac arrest.

A singer-songwriter in her own right, Lisa Marie was the only child of Elvis and his wife Priscilla Presley, and was previously married to the singer Michael Jackson and the actor Nicolas Cage.

Lisa Marie and Priscilla attended the Golden Globes Awards on Tuesday to see Austin Butler awarded Best Actor for his role in an Elvis biopic.

According to TMZ, Lisa Marie was found unresponsive at her home in Calabasas on Thursday morning and was rushed to hospital but died shortly afterwards.

A representative for her mother Priscilla said: "Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie.

"They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time."

Presley is survived by three children.
