Jake Quickenden reveals that online trolls advised him to "drown" his baby son in sick social media messages.

Jake Quickenden has revealed that online trolls advised him to "drown" his baby son in a series of sick messages.

The 32-year-old singer and reality TV star welcomed first son Leo with his fiancée Sophie Church in February and proudly shared off pictures of their new arrival on social media.

Quickenden was horrified to start receiving abuse aimed at his son, however, including one from an account named "Jake Quickenden baby is ugly".

"I can't get my head around it myself but again, just the way I look at things," he told today's Good Morning Britain.

"I say, 'they must be going through really hard times' so rather then feel sorry for myself. I actually felt really sorry for them and that they're alright because who would do that?

"I think the worst thing they said was, 'drown him, you should drown him'. You can't get your head around that."

He added: "You kind of just have to brush it off and move forward and that's what I always try to do."

Quickenden is currently appearing in Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, airing Sunday nights at 9pm.
