Katie Price spent 12 hours in custody on Friday night after allegedly breaking the terms of a restraining order against her.
The 43-year-old narrowly avoided jail just before Christmas after crashing her car while under the influence - with a judge instead handing her a 16-week suspended sentence and community service.
In 2019 Price was given a five-year restraining order forbidding her from contacting Michelle Penticost - the fiancée of her ex-husband Kieran Hayler - but is accused of breaking that by sending abusive text messages.
The Sun claims that Price referred to Penticost as a "gutter s**g" in the messages, which were then reported to the police.
The former glamour model now faces the very serious threat of jail, with a maximum term of five years on the table if she is convicted of a crime.
A statement from Sussex Police said: "At 5.45pm on Friday, police responded to a report that a suspect had breached their restraining order.
"Officers arrested a woman in her 40s who has been released under investigation while inquiries continue."
Price has yet to directly comment on the incident.
