Katie Price is hospitalised with "a split eye" after an alleged assault by an unnamed man.

Katie Price was reportedly taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning following an alleged assault by an unnamed man.

The 43-year-old is said to have suffered "a split eye" in the incident, which took place at a property in Essex.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service to reports of an assault shortly after 1.30am this morning, Monday 23 August.

"We arrived and found a woman had sustained a facial injury which required hospital treatment.

"A man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody. Our investigations are continuing at the scene today."

A source added to The Sun: "Katie is, understandably, utterly devastated.

"She was taken to hospital in an ambulance where she was treated for a suspected jaw fracture and split eye."

Price's most recent social media post came on Instagram last night at around 10pm, when she revealed that she was in the process of helping her fiancé renovate his house.
