Liam Payne death: One Direction's joint statement in full
Read the statement issued by One Direction following the tragic death of Liam Payne at the age of 31 on Wednesday.

The music world remains in shock following the tragic death of Liam Payne at the age of just 31 this week.

The former One Direction star lost his life after falling from a third-floor interior balcony at a hotel in Argentina in circumstances that remain unclear at present.

Payne's bandmates Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles united on Thursday to issue a joint tribute.

The group's statement in full:

We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing.

In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.

The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever.

For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us.

We will miss him terribly.

We love you Liam.

Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry.
