The body of One Direction star Liam Payne has been flown back to the UK following his tragic death in Argentina last month.

The 31-year-old died after falling from a third-floor balcony at his Buenos Aires hotel, with unconfirmed reports suggesting that he may have fallen unconscious while standing near the edge.

Provisional toxicology reports have indicated that he had drugs in his system at the time of the incident - and police have been working on the belief that a hotel staff member may have supplied him with the substances.

Liam's father Geoff Payne has been in Argentina since he died working with investigators, and after completing their toxicology tests the singer's body was released to the family on Wednesday.

Although yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that Liam's funeral could be held in his hometown of Wolverhampton within the next week.
