Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter broke down in tears during a London gig last night following the death of his younger brother Aaron Carter.

The 34-year-old popstar was discovered dead in a bathtub at his California home on Saturday morning, with a cause of death not immediately apparent.

Nick, who had been estranged from Aaron in recent years, posted an emotional tribute to his sibling on social media on Sunday before going ahead with a Backstreet Boys gig at London's The O2 that night.

During a performance of emotional ballad 'Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely', Nick was unable to perform his verse and was comforted by his bandmates.

Halfway through the show, the group paused to pay tribute to Aaron, with Kevin Richardson telling the crowd: "Tonight we've got heavy hearts, because we lost one of our family members yesterday.

"We just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognise him. Nick's little brother passed away yesterday at 34 years old.

"He's a part of our family and we thank you guys for all your love, all your well wishes and support."

The group went on to play a version of 'Breathe' in tribute to Aaron.
