Former EastEnders actor James Alexandrou has said that the allegations against Noel Clarke were "long overdue".
On Thursday night The Guardian published a lengthy report containing accounts from 20 women accusing the Bulletproof actor of bullying, sexual harassment and sharing explicit pictures and videos without consent.
In a Twitter post, Alexandrou, who starred on the BBC soap as Martin Fowler until 2007 and has since been working as a producer, suggested that he knows people who had been "hurt" by Clarke's behaviour.
"Noel Clarke Had too many of scared us for too long," he wrote. "I genuinely feel ashamed I didn't do more to stand up for friends of mine he hurt."
He added: "Innocent until proven guilty, but this was long overdue."
Responding to The Guardian's report, Clarke strongly denied all of the allegations being made against him.
