Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has confirmed speculation that he will be appearing on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
Earlier this year the 33-year-old, who played Adam Barton on the soap between 2009 and 2018, emerged as one of the rumoured contestants for the next series, which starts in September.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he confirmed: "Bring it all on! I love a bit of glitz and glam. I was going to say something then, but it might get blown out of context... I just want to experience the Strictly curse!
"I'm not the best dancer in the world, I wish. Though once I've had a drink, I do believe I'm the best dancer in the world. Sober it is a completely different story.
"I have never won anything in my life so it would be nice but I'm not necessarily competitive. I try to do my best in anything I sign up to but as cheesy and cliché as it sounds it's about the journey and experience you go through.
"Kelvin Fletcher surprised us all... we knew he could dance but not to that extent. We would always go out and have a bit of a dance and he would pull out the Kelvin shuffle but I never knew he had that in his locker.
"I'd have to win it or he'd never let me live it down. Not only that, he won Strictly and now he's at the National Theatre so he's really starting to piss me off a little bit!"
Thomas will also soon be seen in BBC One's revival of Waterloo Road, which returns to screens later this year.
