AJ Odudu and her professional partner Kai Widdrington reportedly have an open invite to return to Strictly Come Dancing for a one-off performance in 2022.
The TV presenter made it through to the final of the ballroom contest but was forced to withdraw from the competition on the eve of the last episode due to injury.
As a result the final became a two-horse race between EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and TV chef John Whaite, with the former ultimately triumphing after the public vote.
According to The Sun, producers are keen to get Odudu back for a one-off performance in the next series in recognition of her final-hurdle heartbreak.
"The winner of the show returns to perform again for one dance when the series starts up again and it's been suggested AJ could be allowed to come back for one last turn on the dance floor," a source told the newspaper.
"Nothing has been decided yet but, if they can make schedules line up, AJ could be back for a final spin. The idea of allowing AJ to perform one last routine is something they'd love to make happen."
Overall Odudu and Widdrington managed an average score of 34.6 across their 13 dances of the series.
