Strictly Come Dancing producers are reportedly trying to tempt two "A-listers" into appearing on this year's show.

Strictly Come Dancing producers are reportedly trying to tempt two "A-listers" to take part in this year's show.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has cast doubt over whether the BBC dance contest can go ahead as planned in September, although execs are said to be considering "radical" measures to get the show on the air.

According to The Sun, the lockdown could even prove beneficial for the show when it comes to securing contestants.

"Strictly bosses are actually in talks with some huge stars now the lockdown has come into effect," a source told the newspaper.

"There are two A-listers in particular that bosses have been trying to sign for years who are now considering joining the show.

"The thing is – because of the lockdown, a lot of celebs are having films, TV shows, tours and theatre bookings cancelled and Strictly is likely to go ahead – it's a big payday and a huge, prestigious show.

"When packed schedules might have stood in the way before, now a lot of stars' calendars have opened right up."

Comedian Catherine Tate and Our Girl actress Michelle Keegan are among the names already linked with this year's series.
