The Masked Singer host Joel Dommett has confirmed that filming has been completed on the second series of the show.
The first series aired on ITV earlier this year and was a sleeper ratings hit, prompting the broadcaster to swiftly renew it for a second run.
As previously reported, the second series was filmed over a fortnight earlier this month and Dommett has now confirmed that despite the ongoing restrictions posed by the coronavirus pandemic, production went ahead without a hitch.
"We finished filming this week finished – two days ago, which is amazing," he told Metro.
"It was mad, obviously, there were a lot of rules and regulations so the relief when we got it done was amazing.
"There were a lot of rule changes at the time and everyone was scared it was going to get shut down halfway through.
"The scale of the production of that show is so big, so I am so pleased that it's done and ITV managed to get it done."
The new eight-episode second series had originally been earmarked for January 2021, although we can reveal that ITV has also ordered a one-hour 'best bits' programme and is looking to bring the show back over Christmas.
