Comedian and TV presenter Alan Carr is reportedly in talks about appearing on the upcoming celebrity edition of The Traitors.

Comedian and presenter Alan Carr is reportedly engaged in talks about appearing on the upcoming celebrity version of The Traitors.

The much-anticipated spinoff has already been linked with a number of big names, including Stephen Fry, Robert Peston, Tom Daley, Jennifer Saunders, Clare Balding and Daisy May Cooper.

According to The Sun, the latest name in the frame is Interior Design Masters host Carr, in what would become his first reality TV role.

A source told the newspaper: "Alan is an absolute national treasure and will be an incredible contestant - he'll make great telly as well as being a top player.

"Bosses are thrilled at the kind of scenes that could play out as he grapples with the more sensible names on the lineup as well as him giggling away with pals like Jennifer.

"He has been one of viewers' dream signings since the idea of a celebrity version was first floated so everyone is thrilled talks are in final stages."

The celebrity version is due to be filmed early next year, while the third series of the civilian edition is due to begin on BBC One over the festive period.
