Cloaks at the ready - The Traitors is back!

After a seemingly-interminable wait, Claudia Winkleman has returned to her Scottish castle to welcome a new group of 22 strangers to play the ultimate game of deception. Who will become The Traitors and who are The Faithfuls?

Aubrey

Age: 67

From: Loughborough, Leicestershire

Occupation: Retired Shop Owner

Why did you apply for the show?
"When I watched it last year, I thought to myself: I could do that. That was it. Then I think Claudia had announced that applications were open and before I knew it, I was on the link. I'd never ever dreamt in a million years that I'd be where I am now. So that was it really, no other reason. Oh and, to speak the truth, the location is beautiful, that castle is fantastic, and why not at 66?"

What is your game plan?
"My game plan is to get on with everyone and to try and befriend everyone. If you're not going to be friendly with people, they're not going to like you, are they? But I know there will be obstacles in the way. As I say, you never know until you're there and mingling with everyone."

How would you feel to be chosen as a Traitor?
"Fabulous! I did say that's what I wanted because I love the cloaks. I think I'd be good as a Traitor, but if I'm not, I'm not going to be heartbroken. You could be recruited at another point. What will be, will be!"

What would you spend the prize money on?
"First of all, I'd count it! Over the years, I've met lots and lots of people. I often go to Mykonos; I've been going there since 1980. I've met people from every corner of the world, and I've visited a lot but there are some friends that are from New Zealand, a place that I've not yet been. So, the answer to the question is I'd travel more. I'd also give some of the money to the Mykonos Animal Welfare charity."

The Traitors series two begins Wednesday, January 3 at 9pm on BBC One.
