A peak of more than 10 million viewers tune in to see Portugal dumped out of Euro 2020 by Belgium, according to overnight ratings figures.

A peak of 10.54m (54.1%) tuned in to see Belgium dump Portugal out of Euro 2020 last night, according to early ratings figures.

The last-16 game saw the reigning European champions - captained by Cristiano Ronaldo - eliminated from the competition courtesy of a first-half goal from Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thorgan Hazard.

Overall, ITV's coverage of the match averaged an impressive 7.23m (39.7%) between 7.10pm and 10.20pm, with the peak figure coming as the match drew to a close at 9.53pm.

Earlier, coverage of the Netherlands' 2-0 defeat to the Czech Republic averaged 4.98m (39.0%) for the channel between 4.15pm and 7.10pm.

Overnight ratings figures do not take into account viewers who watched the game in pubs, bars or other non-household settings.
