Alex Scott has reportedly been chosen as the new host of the BBC's Football Focus from next season.
The Saturday lunchtime show has been hosted by Dan Walker for the last 12 seasons, although the BBC Breakfast presenter announced last week that he will be stepping down at the end of the current campaign.
"Alex was deemed the perfect fit for the role," a source told The Sun of the decision to hire former Arsenal right-back Scott.
"After her stint on Strictly in 2019, her popularity went through the roof. Not only is she a great broadcaster, her knowledge of the game is outstanding.
"Alex is going to be a huge asset to the Football Focus team. Everyone is so excited to have her on board."
Scott currently works as a pundit for Sky Sports and Match of the Day 2 and has also been linked with the upcoming vacancy hosting A Question of Sport.
