Leigh Francis has revealed that he has filmed a pilot episode of a new show featuring characters from Bo' Selecta!
The sketch show - broadcast on Channel 4 between 2002 and 2009 - featured Francis impersonating celebrities and placing them in surreal scenarios, while he also portrayed other characters such as celeb-obsessed Avid Merrion and a sex-obsessed bear.
In 2020, in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement, Francis issued an apology to celebs including Trisha Goddard and Craig David for his impersonations of them on the show, and Channel 4 took down the entire series from its on-demand service.
Talking to The Sun, however, Francis - also known for his alter-ego Keith Lemon - said that he had recently recorded a new episode which could lead to a revival of sorts for the series.
"Avid Merrion is wandering around somewhere," he told the newspaper. "He's a bit different though, he's grown up.
"The Bear was in the pilot too. I don't know if he'll stick around, it's all in the hands of the TV gods."
The news comes after Francis's long-running ITV2 panel show Celebrity Juice aired its final episode earlier this month.
