Curb Your Enthusiasm's executive producer Jeff Schaffer has denied speculation that the long-running comedy's upcoming 12th season will be the last.
The show, which stars Larry David as a semi-fictionalised version of Larry David, has been on the air since 2000 and is known for taking indeterminate gaps between seasons as David comes up with new ideas.
Most notably, Curb took a six-year gap between seasons eight and nine from 2011 to 2017, while the most recent season aired in late 2021.
The next season has now already been filmed for broadcast later this year - and last week, producer Jon Hayman set tongues wagging when he suggested that it may mark the end.
"Reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. We literally just finished shooting last week," Schaffer told Deadline.
He continued: "My first season was season five. And you know what the final episode of that season was called? 'The End.' Not ironically.
"That was 15 years ago. So every season is the last season. It's been this way forever.
"Larry's put all the ideas he likes into the season. He's the only one who thinks he's never gonna have another good idea. So, of course, he's done for a while.
"But you know, usually he goes out and has spirited encounters with the westside of Los Angeles and then ideas come. So we're in the same spot we're always in. It's just business as usual."
HBO has yet to confirm a premiere date for Curb season 12, although it is expected to air in the final few months of the year.
