Denise van Outen denies reports that she is planning to reunite with Johnny Vaughan on a revamped version of The Big Breakfast.

Denise van Outen has denied reports that she is in talks about a possible comeback for The Big Breakfast.

Together with Johnny Vaughan, Van Outen was part of one of the breakfast show's most popular presenter pairings in the late '90s but Channel 4 swung the axe on the programme in 2002 after first Van Outen and then Vaughan left.

The pair famously fell out in a row over pay and did not speak for the best part of 20 years - although they reconnected during lockdown last year, sparking speculation that they could be working on a rebooted version of the show.

"It is just that, it's a rumour," Van Outen told Good Morning Britain. "I think this has come from me reconnecting with Johnny over the last year – we've been doing a lot of chatting.

"Lockdown did a lot of things for a lot of friendships and people reconnecting and some people, their relationship went to dust.

"We were that lucky partnership that got back in touch. I would love to work with him again, we both said we'd like to do something... we have started conversations."

Vaughan currently works as a presenter on Radio X, while Van Outen is gearing up to host a new live cabaret show at London's Proud Embankment.
