Eamonn Holmes has taken a fresh swipe at his former This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield, describing him as "very passive-aggressive".

Two years ago, Holmes's wife Ruth Langsford made an official complaint to ITV about Schofield, accusing him of interrupting her during a live link.

"Phillip is renowned for snubbing people," Holmes recalled to the Daily Mail.

"He's very passive-aggressive. It's up to Ruth to say how she felt, but I was feeling hurt for her. No-one would have snubbed me like that.

"I have a good Belfast street fighter in me... I would be direct. I don't go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence."

Holmes has now left ITV completely to host the breakfast show on GB News, while Langsford remains a regular presenter on Loose Women.
