Former politician and broadcaster Gloria De Piero has joined GB News to host a new weekday afternoon show.
The 48-year-old was Labour MP for the Ashfield constituency in Nottinghamshire between 2010 and 2019 and also served in both Jeremy Corbyn and Ed Miliband's shadow cabinets.
Prior to her frontline political career, De Piero was political editor at GMTV for seven years and since stepping down as an MP before the last general election she has gone on to host a show for Times Radio.
Announcing her new role at GB News, she said: "My time as a constituency MP opened my eyes to the issues facing Britons today.
"I'm passionate about bringing their stories to life at GB News, making sure every community is heard and reflecting Britain as it really is through grassroots journalism."
The channel's director of programming John McAndrew added: "Gloria deeply understands what matters to people across the United Kingdom and how we can serve them better through news and debate that is meaningful, relevant and reflects their values."
A precise launch date for GB News has yet to be confirmed, although the new station is expected to be on the air before the end of June.
