James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther on Friends, has died of cancer at the age of 59.
Earlier this year the actor revealed that he was battling stage 4 prostate cancer, having been diagnosed in 2018.
According to TMZ, Tyler passed away peacefully on Sunday morning at his home in Los Angeles.
In a statement, his family said: "The world knew him as Gunther (the seventh 'Friend'), from the hit series Friends, but Michael's loved ones knew him as an actor, musician, cancer-awareness advocate, and loving husband.
"Michael loved live music, cheering on his Clemson Tigers, and would often find himself in fun and unplanned adventures.
"If you met him once you made a friend for life."
Tyler appeared in 148 of Friends' 236 episodes and earlier this year made a cameo in the highly-anticipated reunion episode via video link.
