Hannah Waddingham reveals that Ted Lasso season three will begin filming soon.

Hannah Waddingham has confirmed that filming on the third season of Ted Lasso will begin soon.

The acclaimed Apple TV+ comedy stars Jason Sudeikis as the titular American coach who manages fictional football team AFC Richmond, with Waddingham playing his boss Rebecca Welton.

Appearing on The Late Late Show, Waddingham revealed that she is looking forward to getting back to filming but also admitted that acting on the show comes with additional challenges.

"We start [season three] on Valentine's Day, which is rather lovely," she said. "But I think because Jason's from SNL and Brendan [Hunt] who plays Coach Beard is from Second City, which is in Chicago... and because Brett (Goldstein, aka Roy Kent) does stand-up, they write like the framework of the show.

"And then the amount of times, me with lots of emotional monologues, I will suddenly get completely different words just before the camera's about to go on me.

"I think they like doing it because you get the immediate knee-jerk reaction to something, but my mid-40s brain can't cope with it at all.

"I'm one stage away from having idiot boards, because it's hardcore. They're just used to that SNL kind of world!"

Season three of Ted Lasso is expected to be released in summer 2022.
