ITV has commissioned a sixth series of crime drama Unforgotten following impressive ratings for the most recent instalment.
The show, which follows a team investigating unsolved crimes from the past, averaged more than 8 million viewers an episode for series five and ranks as the number one show on ITVX this year so far.
At the end of series four, lead actor Nicola Walker was killed off in shock scenes, with creator Chris Lang subsequently drafting in Sinead Keenan to play DCI Jess James, the new partner for Sanjeev Bhaskar's DI Sunny Khan.
The pair will both return for the six-episode sixth series, which will focus on a new mystery and develop the characters' on-screen partnership as they get used to each other's way of working.
Lang will write all six episodes, with filming expected later this year ahead of a potential transmission in 2024.
