Jeff Garlin has left the cast of The Goldbergs with immediate effect following a series of on-set misconduct allegations aimed at him.
The 59-year-old - also an integral part of Curb Your Enthusiasm - had been accused of making inappropriate remarks towards members of the crew on the comedy series, which has run for nine seasons on ABC.
After news of an HR investigation became public, Garlin insisted that he had never sought to make anyone uncomfortable and apologised for any offence caused.
According to Deadline, Garlin and production company Sony have come to a mutual agreement that he would no longer continue on The Goldbergs - a decision that was communicated to cast and crew on Wednesday.
The actor had around a week of filming remaining on season nine prior to the announcement, with the publication saying that a body double will instead be used for his scenes with his face imposed on by CGI.
The future of the comedy beyond the current season has yet to be confirmed.
