Joel Dommett has been confirmed as the host for the BBC's upcoming reboot of Survivor UK.
Last year the BBC confirmed that the iconic reality show would be making a comeback on UK TV, more than 20 years after it last aired on ITV.
The format - now in its 44th season in the US - follows contestants competing in trials and forming alliances with each other to avoid being voted out of their tribe, with the aim of being crowned the "sole survivor" and the winner of a huge cash prize.
"I'm the new host of the UK's Survivor! I can't believe it!" said Dommett, who also presents The Masked Singer for ITV. "A huge thank you to the BBC for trusting me with this.
"It's such a hugely popular format all over the world and I'm super excited to help bring it to our sweet little country. Let the tribal councils BEGIN!"
BBC entertainment head Kalpna Patel-Knight added: "Having Joel on board is brilliant! With his natural comedic charm we are thrilled that he is going to be on hand guiding, encouraging and challenging our contestants as they all try to be the sole survivor!"
The show will be filmed in the Dominican Republic this summer and will air over 16 episodes on BBC One later this year.
