Major Downton Abbey character 'to be killed off in new movie'
A major character will reportedly be killed off in the new Downton Abbey movie.

The upcoming Downton Abbey sequel will reportedly feature the death of a major character.

The period drama ended its TV run after six series in 2015, with a big-screen outing following in 2019 and a second feature film due out next spring.

According to The Sun, the new movie will be the last for one of the original cast as they are set to be killed off in a "poignant" death scene.

"Those who have seen the scenes said they are so emotional," a source told the newspaper.

"They really will leave fans in floods. It's heartbreak at Highclere Castle and there won't be a dry eye in cinemas."

Called Downton Abbey: A New Era, the new film is set for release on March 18, 2022.
