Michaela Coel has reportedly begun talks with the BBC about making a new series of I May Destroy You.
The dark drama, which aired on BBC One in the UK and HBO in the US last summer, stars Coel as a young influencer whose life is changed one night when she is raped in a nightclub toilet.
The show - also created and written by Coel - garnered almost universal acclaim from critics and is up for four of the top gongs at next month's BAFTA TV Awards.
According to The Sun, the 33-year-old has started talks about a follow-up series which is said to be "highly likely" to air in 2022.
The news of a potential second series comes just months after HBO's chief of content Casey Bloys ruled out the prospect, telling reporters: "There's no season two coming."
The entire first series remains available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
